DC MUSIC FOR RELIEF is a nonprofit organization whose backbone
is the Washington, D.C.-area music community.
Our mission is to provide hope and improve the quality of life
of disaster survivors around the world, without regard to race,
gender, religion, or political affiliation.
Our pledge and promise is to provide financial and material
resources by organizing periodic benefit events. Concerned D.C.-area
musicians, photographers, and others have donated their time
and talents to our events. Past events have included benefit
concerts for the survivors of the tsunami in Southeast Asia and
Africa, Hurricane Katrina, and the Virginia Tech massacre.
We encourage all our friends and fans to help the survivors
of disasters by making a financial donation to any of our partner
organizations. Here are your options:
(1) Come to our benefit events and enjoy the entertainment,
knowing that you are helping survivors of disasters with your
donation. Our next major upcoming event (date and location TBD)
will be the Million Meal Marathon: The Race Against Hunger. Proceeds
from this race and festival will be donated to benefit victims
of hunger around the world. For more information on the Million
Meal Marathon or to sign up to receive updates, go to www.millionmealmarathon.com.
